First Assessment Walk
All new dogs require an assessment walk when coming with us for the first time. This assessment walk is made entirely so that we focus on integrating them into a small select few dogs. This allows us to learn the new dog’s social skills, behaviour, listening skills, recall and much more. By doing this we can then place them in the best social group of like-minded dogs to suit their individual personality.
During this time, it enables them to also adapt to the new routine and environments which we are placing them in while going for a walk with us. If having a dog walker is something new to your dog, sometimes the first walk can be overwhelming for them as they don’t understand the new routine of being collected, travel to the fields, walking with their dog friends, travel back and then settled back at home.
The assessment walk is the perfect time for us to reassure them if worried or unsure and make it a fabulous adventure so they are happy to come with us each time. Our main priority is making sure your dogs’ emotional state of mind is happy and content.
Assessment walks are £20.00 (including VAT)
*If we have any behavioural problems or concern with socialising, or they are not settling in during this time we will discuss the next steps with you after their return.
In rare cases where we are having to devote more time and focus to train, guide or settle your dog in after their initial walk, we may keep pricing at £20.00.
This is until we are able to walk them with other dogs in a group naturally with minimal input from us, while they are then settled into how to socialise correctly. As soon as this is able to be done walks will reduce to group walk price of £17.00 (including VAT).
Consultation Visits
I offer a free initial consultation visit. I feel that it is important to introduce myself to both you and your dog to give you confidence that they are in the best possible hands.
During the visit, we can discuss your dog’s specific needs and routines. Their breed, age and temperament are all important factors that help us to understand your dog so that they can fit in to the right walks and social group.
I will also use this time to answer any questions you may have regarding our service and discuss keys for entrance, key box location, security of houses, where dogs will be left on collection and drop off and anything else.
Online forms will be sent to you and need to be completed before your assessment walk is arranged so that we have all important information. Forms will include Client Information Sheet, Dog Information Sheet, Vet Release form (optional), Service Agreement and then we will add in a Welcome Pack for you which details all of our services, our teams, prices and approximate times of walks.
