Founder and owner of Talley Wags, Sarah, established the business in 2008, when dog walking and home pet care was a rare service. Sarah began her venture single handedly with just a converted car, homemade leaflets and her first customer being a family friend wanting holiday care for their anti-social Weimaraner.
On this day Talley Wags was born!
From word-of-mouth, advertising and many hours of hard work, Talley Wags’ reliable and trustworthy services started to spread. Sarah delivered consistent, professional and round the clock friendly care, which has over the years enabled the business to mature and grow into a widely recognised and highly valued dog walking and animal care business in the local area surrounding West Lancashire.
Proudly now annually being awarded Number One Best Rated Dog Walking Business in Sefton for a number of years by “Three Best Rated”.

Group walks form the main dynamic of Talley Wags, and we pride ourselves on the way that we structure our group dog walks and socialisation, aiming to allow each dog that comes through our doors to have the best interaction with their own kind. We offer a stress free pick up and collection service so that owners can continue to have their important or busy daily schedules undisturbed. We love seeing dogs be true dogs, encouraging natural healthy behaviours while also learning important life skills when it comes to dog language and life skills. Everyone has the same rules and boundaries to follow when they join in our group walks, this allows everyone whether bold or shy to have fun and enjoy well mannered, polite encounters with each other.
Sarah has worked with all different species of animals, specializing in dogs. Dogs of different breeds, temperaments, abilities, sizes and ages. Before starting Talley Wags Sarah started her love for animals working for over 7 years at RSPCA branches around the North West, even partaking in a secondment to Bath Cats & Dogs Home. Having handled a multitude of dogs with behavioural issues ranging from aggression, hyperactivity, anxiety, nervousness, recall issues, chewing, barking, lead pulling and much more, Sarah has achieved and maintained a very high level of understanding and exceptional practical experience in handling dogs over many years.
All Walkers employed by Talley Wags are fully insured have many years of experience and work under supervision from Sarah to ensure a consistent, first-class service is delivered to our clients and pets every day.
We are all dog owners here at Talley Wags. Owning dogs is one thing but handling and walking multiple dogs that are not your own is another! We take our time to win around the shy dogs and draw on all of our experience to cater for the higher drive or boisterous dogs… but no matter what, your pets are in safe hands with us. We live for what we do no matter what the weather and we love the animals that we care for as much as our own. It’s a huge responsibility caring for other people’s pets so we do it with pride and recognition that we have been entrusted to look after your special family members.
